Jurassic World - you're doing it right

Preface: Jurassic Park was MY MOVIE. And by that I mean it was 1993, I was 12, I'd just read the book, and loved it, and I had just visited Universal Studios which had a painted jeep and other theming and then I sat in the movie theater in Key Largo FL and the MOVIE KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF. I went on to see it 7 more times in the movie theater and the Jurassic Park soundtrack was the first CD I ever purchased. Listening to that later that week was literally euphoric. (I don't mean figuratively there- I was incapable of movement, lying on a couch, headphones on and practically in tears, thank you John Williams. This also started my love of soundtracks in general.) SO, cut to 2015, I've been eagerly watching the trailers and I AM STOKED. CHRIS PRATT RAPTOR TRAINING??? WHAT THE WHAT, AND ALL OF THE YES.
Also, this is an underlying fan theory, to which I say - HEADCANNON ACCEPTED!

Anyway, sorry, got distracted there... this brings us to today-
The Mary Sue had a post about some of the cool goings on in the realms of geekdom. And listed in the post was this video for InGen. It is simply brilliant, both the video and the larger marketing campaign. But, before I gush about it, just watch it. I'll catch you on the flip side.
See, isn't that sheet perfection? BD Wong is amazing and this marketing is amazing. It gives subtle (maybe not so subtle) insight into Jurassic World and the environment that has allowed it to become a fully fledged theme park. When I went to YouTube to finish watching the video, (because The Mary Sue kept having side adds that auto-played with sound, come on now...) I noticed that:
1. the video is unlisted. So that those who just click on the Jurassic World account will only see trailers for the movie, not the in-world videos.
2. there was a small link below the video for the parent company - Masrani.

I, of course, followed that link and the work done for this website is phenomenal. It fully passes as a global/multinational billion-dollar company.
Well, after a little more poking around I saw that they had a Careers tab. And, low and behold they had job openings! While not having a "zoo keeper" specifically, they did have a Paddock Supervisor, a more security based position - "Jurassic World is seeking a number of Paddock Supervisors to join the Asset Containment team on a per assignment basis. Successful candidates will need to become acquainted with stringent security protocols."

Of course I applied. Here's my answer for their question-

"Why do you want to work for Masrani?"
I would really love to write something that commends your multinational, far-reaching and well rounded company, a cover letter that expresses my faith in your company as a global leader in technology and innovation. But in full honesty my heart lies in your most well known of adventures - Jurassic World. I've been a zookeeper for 14 years, I've worked with mammals, fish, birds and reptiles, from common barn animals to highly endangered exotics. I currently work with rhinos and while they might not reach the size of your more high profile animals, I have experience with mega-herbivores and have a very healthy respect for what animals of that size can accomplish. Safety is always my number one priority and I would be honored to have the chance to help manage your in-situ population of prehistoric fauna. Hmm...prehistoric, maybe that's not the correct term anymore. Add me to your team and let be be a part of writing their history, Today. It's not pre-history, it's happening now.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

And guess what guys.... I GOT IN!!!
Welcome Dear Jennifer,

Congratulations, and welcome to the Masrani Corporation!

Thank you for choosing to join one of the world’s fastest growing families. Given your set of skills, we are pleased to offer you employment as a Paddock Supervisor at Jurassic World on Isla Nublar, Costa Rica.

Your immediate supervisor is Mr. Eric Edelstein.

At Masrani, our philosophy is to combine vision with innovation to create success. We will ensure that these skills are demonstrated to you in your orientation so that they will help guide you through your journey at Masrani.

On your right, you will find an ID badge requiring your input to finalize for security purposes. Simply upload a photo of yourself using the upload tool below and you will see your ID card in full fruition.

We look forward to welcoming you as a new employee in Jurassic World's highly praised Asset Containment team. Meanwhile, please continue to check back at www.masraniglobal.com for all the latest news, videos, and images.

Sincerely,

Simon Masrani

Chief Executive Officer, Masrani
I even got an ID badge.

Then I did this with it, because it's what ya do.

So, in conclusion. I now have a job with Masrani as a paddock supervisor. I'm hoping to get an herbivore, because of reasons.  And I've had a delightfully fun evening exploring the website and clicking on things and watching videos and overall getting even more excited for Jurassic World - out June 12th.

Which happens to be the day before I fly to England, which happens to be why I've been pretty silent here on this site - Life's been busy y'all (that and a bit of depression in the last half of last year had kind of crimped off my creative juices and so my posting.)

I'm excited for the movie. I'll attempt to post a review, but it might be after I get back from Scotland, in July.

I'm a zoo keeper. I currently work with Rhinos and it is awesome.

These are my random observations about the world...and I do mean random.  I write about what catches my interest and my imagination.

Just as a note: There is the possibility of the occasional curse word. I will not overuse - but those words have power when carefully placed.

To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams. ::: Giorgio de Chirico :::
